01

About these terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of fortivanceacademy.com and all courses, roadmap bundles, memberships, test series and other services offered through it (the “Platform”). The Platform is run by Fortivance Academy, a proprietorship based in Gurugram, India (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By creating an account, making a purchase or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy, which together form our agreement with you. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Platform.

02

Who can use Fortivance Academy

The Platform is designed for adult learners and is intended for people aged 18 and over. By using it, you confirm that you are at least 18.

If you are under 18, you may learn with us only through a parent or legal guardian, who should create and hold the account, make any purchase, accept these Terms on your behalf and supervise your use of the Platform. The parent or guardian is responsible for that account.

If we learn that someone under 18 is using the Platform without a parent’s or guardian’s involvement, we may suspend the account and delete their data, as described in our Privacy Policy.

03

Your account

  • Please give us accurate, up-to-date details when you register — your name as you’d like it to appear on certificates, your email and phone number.
  • One account, one learner. Your account is personal to you. Please don’t share your login details or let anyone else use your account.
  • Keep your password safe and tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account.
  • You are responsible for activity that takes place through your account.
04

Courses and “lifetime” access

When you buy a course, you get access to it for as long as that course is offered on the Platform — this is what we mean by “lifetime access”. It refers to the life of the course on the Platform, not a fixed number of years.

We regularly update our courses to keep them current with new standards, regulations and exam outlines. This may mean adding, revising, restructuring or removing lessons, quizzes or resources.

If we ever need to retire a course you’ve purchased, we’ll give you reasonable notice before it’s removed and, where possible, offer you access to a comparable or updated course.

To access the Platform, you’ll need a compatible device and a reliable internet connection, which are your responsibility. We work hard to keep the Platform available, but there may be occasional interruptions for maintenance or reasons beyond our control.

05

Memberships

  • A membership gives you access to the courses and benefits described on the membership page for the period you’ve paid for.
  • Memberships may renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before the renewal date. We’ll remind you before your membership expires or renews.
  • You can cancel future renewals at any time by writing to us. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
  • If membership prices change, we’ll tell you before the change applies to your next renewal.
  • Refunds on memberships — including a membership bought by mistake or an unexpected renewal — are covered by our Refund Policy.
06

Prices and payments

  • Prices are shown on the Platform. We offer one set of prices for learners in India and another for learners elsewhere, and we may change prices from time to time. A price change never affects a purchase you’ve already completed.
  • Applicable taxes, such as GST, are added where required by law.
  • Payments are processed securely by our payment gateway. We never see or store your card or bank details.
  • Promo codes and offers are subject to their own conditions, can’t be exchanged for cash and may be withdrawn at any time.
07

Refunds

Purchases are generally final, because you get instant access to course content. We’re happy to consider a refund in genuine cases — technical problems we can’t fix, a course that isn’t what you expected, or a membership bought by mistake or renewed without your knowledge — if you request it within 7 days and have watched no more than 15% of the course. Our Refund Policy sets out the full details and always takes priority.

Please contact us before raising a payment dispute with your bank. If a dispute or chargeback is raised without contacting us first, access to that purchase may be paused while the dispute is reviewed.

08

Using course content

When you buy a course, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use its content for your own learning. This licence doesn’t transfer ownership of any content to you.

To protect our work and keep prices fair for everyone, you agree not to:

  • Share, resell, sublicense or give others access to course content or your account.
  • Screen-record, download (other than through features we provide), copy or redistribute videos, slides, quizzes or practice questions.
  • Share downloadable resources outside your personal use, or upload any of our content to other websites, groups or file-sharing services.
  • Use our content to create competing courses, question banks or training materials.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, copy or extract content from the Platform.

Breaching these rules may lead to your access being suspended or ended without a refund.

09

Certificates and exam preparation

  • Independent preparation. Our certification-prep courses and test series are created independently by Fortivance Academy. They are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any certification body — including ISC2, ISACA, IAPP, PMI, CompTIA, CSA or others. Their names and certification marks belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe the exams our courses help you prepare for.
  • Original questions. Our practice questions are written by us to reflect published exam outlines. They are not actual exam questions.
  • No guaranteed results. We work hard to prepare you well, but we can’t guarantee that you’ll pass any exam. Exam content, formats and rules are set by the certification bodies and may change.
  • Our certificates. Fortivance Academy certificates of completion recognise that you have completed a course. They are not accredited qualifications or professional certifications.
  • Career outcomes. Our career roadmaps describe learning paths towards specific roles. Job and career outcomes depend on many factors, and we don’t guarantee employment, promotion or salary outcomes.
10

Educational purpose

Our courses are for education and professional development. Content covering laws, regulations and standards — such as data protection, AI regulation or financial-sector resilience rules — is general information, not legal, compliance or other professional advice. For decisions about your own organisation, please take advice from a qualified professional.

Some of our course content, such as voiceovers and slides, is produced with the help of AI tools. Every course is designed and reviewed by our team before it’s published.

11

Community and your content

Where the Platform offers community features — such as discussions, comments or live sessions — please keep them respectful and useful for everyone.

You remain the owner of anything you post. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and share it within the Platform so that those features can work. We’ll only use your comments, reviews or feedback as testimonials or in marketing with your consent.

You’re responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to share it. We may remove content that breaks these Terms.

12

Acceptable use

When using the Platform, please don’t:

  • Break any law, or use the Platform for fraud, scams or other harmful purposes.
  • Post content that is abusive, hateful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene or that shares someone else’s personal information.
  • Send spam or promotions, or post links to malware or misleading websites.
  • Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent a certificate or your connection with Fortivance Academy.
  • Try to access accounts, systems or data you’re not authorised to, or interfere with the Platform’s security or performance.
13

Intellectual property and feedback

All content on the Platform — including courses, videos, slides, quizzes, practice questions, downloadable resources, text, graphics, logos and the “Fortivance Academy” name — belongs to Fortivance Academy or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms gives you ownership of it.

If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve our courses and the Platform without any obligation to you.

14

Suspension and ending your account

You can stop using the Platform at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by writing to us. Deleting your account ends your access to purchased content; refunds are available only as set out in our Refund Policy.

We may suspend or end your access, with or without notice depending on how serious the issue is, if you breach these Terms — for example by sharing your account, redistributing content or misusing the Platform. Access ended for a breach is not eligible for a refund. Where an issue can reasonably be fixed, we’ll usually contact you first.

15

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

We take care to make our courses accurate and the Platform reliable, but the Platform and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t give any warranty that the content will be error-free, always current, or suitable for a particular purpose, or that the Platform will be uninterrupted.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of profit, business, opportunity or data, arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

16

Your responsibility

If you breach these Terms or misuse the Platform — for example by redistributing our content or infringing someone else’s rights — and this causes us loss or a claim against us, you agree to compensate us for that loss, including reasonable legal costs.

17

Platform providers and third-party links

The Platform is hosted by Graphy, and payments are processed by our payment gateway. Your use of their services may also be subject to their own terms.

Courses may link to external websites or resources for further reading. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or practices.

18

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time — for example, when we add new features such as community spaces or a mobile app, or when the law changes. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated. If we make significant changes, we’ll tell you by email or through the Platform before they take effect. Continuing to use the Platform after that means you accept the updated Terms.

19

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If a dispute arises, please contact us first — most issues can be resolved quickly and informally.

If we can’t resolve it together, the courts at Gurugram, Haryana, India will have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

20

General

  • If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • If we don’t enforce a right immediately, we haven’t given it up.
  • You may not transfer your account or your rights under these Terms to anyone else.
  • We aren’t responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
  • These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Platform.
21

Contact and grievances

For any question, concern or complaint about the Platform or these Terms, please write to our Grievance Officer:

We’ll acknowledge your message within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
